What would be the equivalent of the Nobel Prize in Education that comes with a $1 million dollar award? The Global Teacher Prize. The ten finalists were announced by Dr. Stephen Hawking, and the grand prize winner was announced in Dubai by his holiness, Pope Francis.

Join The New Teacher Podcast host, Anthony Arno, on the 23rd episode as he talks with Michael Soskil, a 2016 finalist for the Global Teacher Prize. Michael is also athe 2017 Pennsylvania state Teacher of the Year and past recipient of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching.

Michael will talk about his teaching experience, including how he has connected online with students in over 70 different countries, including the International Space Station, and his visit to the slums of Kenya where he successfully raised funds for to purchase water filters.
